IIAM CTOs Present ML Findings at International Cancer Conference
Max Jiam, IIAM co-CTO, was invited to present at the AHNS (American Head and Neck Society) 11th International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer in Montreal, Canada. His talk, entitled, “A supervised machine learning model for identifying predictive factors for recommending head and neck cancer surgery”. The international attendance base for the meeting includes 1,500 head and neck surgeons, radiologists and oncologists. Among these physicians are high-ranking surgeons and physicians, many of whom are the heads of their departments, as well as those at the beginning of their careers.

Dr. Nicole Jiam, CEO, is part of a team that has been awarded the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corporation Research Grant. The award consists of $50,000 and an intensive seven-week program to help the team translate the clinically meaningful digital health product into the marketplace.

The IIAM team was selected as a Blackstone Launchpad Fellow - a signature program of the Blackstone Charitable Foundation and TechStarts. This 8 week program selects the nation’s most promising students with high entrepreneurial skills and potential and teaches them the skills needed to build a successful business. All fellows are given a non-dilutive award to jump-start their ventures. Fellows are also connected with like-minded builders and attend workshops on core entrepreneurial fundamentals such as ideation, design thinking, research, data analysis, customer discovery, business models, networking and more.

IIAM Health was just awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) SBIR Phase I award to develop predictive analytics and machine learning modeling to process cancer referrals. This non-dilutive grant awards $275,000 of funding to start-ups with innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing needs. Over the next year, IIAM will be focused on de-risking the technological solution to address triaging cancer referrals for tertiary healthcare centers.
